It seems to be the season of comedy films. 2012 witnessed the likes of OKOK, Kalakalappu and NKPK making a mark. The trend seems to be continuing now. Now comes Kanna Laddu Thinna Asaiya.

The film inspired by K Bhagiyaraj’s yesteryear hit Indru Poi Naalai Vaa, ends up a laughathon. What begins as a jolly fun ride gathers momentum and ends up all well.

KLTA is the maiden production venture of Santhanam in association with Rama Narayanan. The movie has Power Star Dr Srinivasan, newcomers Sethu and Vishaka. Also in the cast includes VTV Ganesh, Kovai Sarala and Devadarshini.

Thanks to Santhanam’s strong screen presence, the catchy dialogues and some quick unfolding of events in a lighter vein, KLTA strikes a chird instantly.

The movie is set around Santhanam, Srinivasan and Sethu. They fall for a girl and what transpires between them is the crux.

Vishaka comes to Chennai and rents a house next to that of Sethu.

Sethu leads a happy life with his mom (Kovai Sarala). He is impressed with Vishaka that he expresses his love for her. Coming to know about the girl, Sethu’s friends Santhanam and Power Star comes to his house. They Srinivasan joins bharathanatyam classes with Vishaka’s father and Santhanam takes up singing classes with her uncle. Who wins the battle is narrated in an interesting manner.

Santhanam’s one-liners, Srinivasan’s innocent looks and Vishaka’s bubbly performance are the hallmark of KLTA.
The movie has cinematography by Balasubramaniam and Thaman’s songs are loud.

If the movie of the movie is to make you laugh, KLTA does that well.

Verdict: Men on mission
